  3. I just can’t get Speechstart+ to recognise any commands
  4. You need to completely uninstall Speechstart+ after closing the application. Then go to the following location and delete the following 2 folders before reinstalling:

    C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME\AppData\Local\CommandRobot

  5. I can’t get Speechstart+ to recognise the command “MICROPHONE ON” or “RESTART DRAGON”
  6. Please right click on the blue apple in the system tray and choose Options. Make sure the boxes are checked for using those commands.

    If the command still don’t work then click on the advanced button then in the options screen and turn down the accuracy level/Confidence levels for those commands.

    As an example if the current level is 96.4 then move it down to 94.4.

    If the system still does not recognise those commands then click on “Train User Profile” on the advanced options dialogue.

  7. Can I shorten or change the name of the commands, e.g. “SHOW Circles” to “Circles”
  8. If you have a Professional version of Dragon NaturallySpeaking you can add your own command aliases with the following script for the example shown above:

    Give your new advanced script command the name you require, e.g. “Circles”, then use the following:

    Sub Main
    HeardWord”SHOW”, “Circles”
    End Sub

    The case of the text is relevant to make sure you enter the command name exactly as shown when using “SHOW SpeechStart Commands”

  9. The ShowNumbers rectangles, flags or circles are shown in the wrong position
  10. Make sure you download the latest version of Speechstart+, earlier were not DPI aware and required you to check the box “use XP style DPI scaling” with Windows 7 and Windows 8 and to check the box “use one scaling level for all my displays” with Windows 8.1. However you no longer need to do this.

  13. How can I access the Metro interface with Windows 8 from the normal desktop if using a Windows 7 start menu application like “Classic Start Menu”.
  14. Classic Start Menu is an application that gives you back your classic style Windows 7/Windows Vista start menu button in Windows 8. To get to the Metro interface try using the command “Show Charms Bar” followed by “SHOW Numbers” | “SHOW Flags” | “SHOW Circles”. With Windows 8.1 you can have your start menu button back, to see all programs try the following:

    As an example to get to the list of all installed applications on the Metro interface with Windows 8.1 use the following command sequence hands-free:

    “SHOW Charms Bar”
    “SHOW Flags”
    “3″
    “SHOW Flags” (SHOW Numbers or SHOW Circles)
    Then choose the relevant number for the downward pointing arrow at the bottom left of the Metro interface.

    if using Windows 8 without any classic start menu type applications just simply say “Start Menu” to get to the root of the Metro interface

  15. I have my mouse configured so that mouse left and right click are swapped around, however when I issue a Speechstart+ right click command it does a left click and vice versa. How can I change these around?
  16. Close Speechstart+ and go to the following location:

    C:\Users\YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME\AppData\Local\CommandRobot\CommandRobot.exe_Url_4aiuzbtnkyg3t3yiihibrmrhk1y1mdye\1.0.0.0\user.config
    (Please note that the folder with the random name/letter combination above could be assigned any number or letter combination)

    Open the “user.config” file using something like WordPad and add the following 3 lines in the same area as the other settings:

    <setting name=”RToL” serializeAs=”String”>
    <value>True</value>
    </setting>

    Then save the user.config file and restart Speechstart+.
